China's exports of testing equipment surpass Germany for the first time, with Southeast Asia emerging as a growth engine.

China's export market for testing equipment has achieved a historic breakthrough, with exports in the first quarter of 2025 surpassing Germany for the first time, propelling the country to second place globally. Southeast Asia has emerged as the fastest-growing overseas market, accounting for 19% of China's total testing equipment exports, driven primarily by strong demand in areas such as new-energy battery testing and environmental monitoring.

The structure of export products continues to improve, with semiconductor testing modules seeing a year-on-year growth of 120%. Meanwhile, intelligent visual inspection systems are gaining widespread popularity due to their excellent cost-performance ratio. This significant advancement is driven by local companies' technological breakthroughs in niche areas such as optical inspection and non-destructive testing, enabling the domestic production rate to rise from 28% in 2023 to 33% by 2025.

To strengthen their competitive edge, several companies are setting up localized service centers in Southeast Asia to provide equipment debugging and maintenance support. Industry forecasts predict that, as China’s “Belt and Road” initiative drives the export of advanced technologies, China’s exports of testing equipment will surge by 25% by 2025.
